SETTING THE SCENE Friday Night Lights are back at home for Week 12 as the Cascade Cadets face off with Guerin Catholic for the Sectional 29 Championship. Cascade’s lone sectional championship came in 1992, while Guerin Catholic’s last sectional championship came in 2014. Cascade enters the Championship game riding the momentum of an undefeated regular season, conference championship and a 45-14 victory over Tri-West in the second round. The victory marks the first time since 2006 that Cascade has found its way playing for a Sectional Championship. Guerin Catholic brings a heavy air raid offense led by quarterback Quentin Lee, surrounded by multiple standout receivers who can stretch the field and make plays in space. Defensively, the Golden Eagles feature a unit that has played significant competition against 4A top teams and will test Cascade’s balance and physicality. On the other side, Cascade’s high-tempo Wing Raid offense will look to dictate the pace, establish the run early, and create explosive play opportunities. The Cadets’ ability to win the line of scrimmage and maintain their trademark toughness has fueled back-to-back undefeated regular seasons, an 18-game regular-season winning streak and a trip to the sectional championship. Defensively, Cadets have thrived on being the aggressor and setting the tone with their physical and athletic side of the game. Cascade has given a total of 100 points all season long with 3 shutout victories and are just giving up 7 points per game in the playoffs. With history on the line and a sectional championship trophy up for grabs, the Cadets host Guerin Catholic Friday Night with one team looking to move on. A LITTLE PIECE OF HISTORY Cascade Cadets are playing in their 4th sectional championship in school history. The previous three were 1985, 1992, and 2006. Cascade’s lone Sectional Championship came in 1992, where they defeated Greencastle 37-21 at Cascade High School; 33 years later, the Cascade Cadets take the gridiron against Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles for a chance at their 2nd Sectional Championship. CADET NOTES For the second straight year, Cascade finished off the regular season 9-0. Cascade opened up the regular season with two convincing wins over rivals, Monrovia and Danville, before rolling through the Monon Athletic Conference. Cascade has finally gotten back to the sectional championship game after nearly a 20 year drought. Cascade is playing in just their 4th Sectional Championship in school history. Offensively, Cascade brings in one of the top scoring offenses in the state averaging 57.4 points per game and a stout defense giving up 9.1 points per game. Cascade is coming off of a 58-0 opening round playoff win and a 45-14 dominant performance over Tri-West. OFFENSIVE STATISTICS 57.2 Points/Game 433.2 Total Yds/Game 279.6 Rush Yds/Game 153.5 Pass Yds/Game UNDER CENTER FOR THE CADETS Senior quarterback Brady Trebley is under center, commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. Through 11 weeks of football, he has been as efficient as the best of them in Indiana High School Football, Trebley has completed 99-132 for 1,642 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also has added 196 yards on the ground and 6 touchdowns. Last week vs Tri-West, the pass game was limited to just 3 attempts with Brady completing 2-3 for 30 yards and 1 touchdown, Trebley’s presence was felt on his ability to command the offensive unit that put up 489 rushing yards at an extremely fast pace. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room for the future Cadets. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 3rd (4,306) Passing TDs (Career): 1st (65) Completions (Career): 3rd (252) Completion % (Career): 1st (66.3%) RUN DOMINANCE Cascade heads into the Sectional Championship play versus Guerin Catholic with a three-headed rushing attack that can strike on any play. Last week against Tri-West, the Cadets’ backfield had a plethora of running backs carry the football for 489 rushing yards, averaging an impressive 8.2 yards per carry. Dayton Mink led the team in carries with 25 for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns punishing defenders in his way. JR Lucas Farmer added in 13 carries for 159 yards and 1 touchdown. SR Toby Savini finished it off with 14 carries for 107 yards and 1 touchdown. SO TJ Turner added a fourth ball carrier with 5 carries for 47 yards and 1 touchdown. On the season, Mink leads the team with 761 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns, Savini adds in 649 yards and 11 touchdowns, while Farmer brings 598 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Cascade offense broke the 3,000 yard mark for the 4th straight year totaling 3,076 yards and 59 touchdowns this season. With multiple weapons capable of taking it the distance on any snap, Cascade’s backfield will be a key factor Friday Night as the Cadets look to control the tempo and assert their run game int he Sectional Championship match-up with Guerin Catholic. Toby Savini & Dayton Mink Career Rushing Ranks: Rushing Yards: Savini 3rd (2,877) / Mink 4th (2,770) Rushing Touchdowns: Savini 3rd (35) / Mink 1st (43) Yards Per Rush: Savini 1st (9.62) / Mink 6th (6.53) Career Scoring: Savini 1st (312) / Mink 2nd (278) PASS CATCHERS Cascade’s wide receiver group is deep and experienced this season, led by seniors Marcus Hobson, JT Roshong, with junior Cooper Lievens adding additional depth. This group brings big-play potential to the edge of Cascade’s otherwise run-heavy offense, providing balance and the ability to stretch the field, a key factor as the Cadets look to keep defenses from loading the box against their powerful rushing attack. Last week against Tri-West, the wide receiver group didn’t catch any passes, but made huge timely blocks that lead to touchdowns on the ground. SR Marcus Hobson leads the group with 586 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns. SR JT Roshong has hauled in 17 catches for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns. Marcus Hobson Season / Career Receiving Ranks: Seasons Receiving Touchdowns: Hobson 2nd (13) Career Receiving Touchdowns: Hobson 3rd (19) / Savini 6th (12) / Roshong 7th (11) PHYSICALITY & VERSATILITY ON THE EDGE Cascade’s tight end group will continue to play a vital role in both the run and pass game, but SR Braxton Lewis, SR Royce Bright, SR Delton Howrey, and JR Trent Austin will look to be the dominant force on the edge collapsing down gaps for the run game. Last week, the group was quiet in the pass game, but dominant in the run game assisting in the rack up of 489 rushing yards. As the Cadets prepare for their Week 12 game against Guerin Catholic, look for this group to continue being a dominant presence in the run game while providing timely contributions through the air when needed. HOGS UP FRONT The Cadets’ offensive line has been a major driving force behind Cascade’s success early in the 2025 season, paving the way for an offense that is averaging 433.2 yards per game. In Week 11 versus Indianapolis Washington, this unit had a strong showing, leading the Cadets offense opening massive running lanes to finish the night with 519 yards of offense, with a season high 489 yards on the ground. This year’s line features one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores, with only one returning starter from last season. Senior Brody Duncan provides leadership and stability up front, while juniors Wyatt Minardo and Dillon Setty hold down the tackle spots with toughness and consistency. Sophomore Eric Appleby starts at center, and sophomore Gunner White rounds out the group at left guard. Despite their youth, this line has quickly developed into a physical, cohesive unit, setting the tone for Cascade’s fast, no-huddle attack and giving their deep backfield room to thrive. For the offensive to continue to thrive and make a push for Championships in the playoffs, this group will need to be on the same page and continue to communicate upfront. DEFENSIVE STATISTICS 9.1 Points/Game Allowed 158.3 Total Yds/Game Allowed 54.1 Rush Yds/Game Allowed 104.2 Pass Yds/Game Allowed 28 Takeaways (16 INTs/12 Fumble Recovery’s) RUN GAME STOPPERS Cascade’s defensive front will look to set the tone this week on the defensive line vs Guerin’s spread offensive attack. Senior Dominic Appleby, Senior Bentley McClellan and JR Jacob Healy will get the start this week. This group has dominated the run game with plugging holes and shutting down running backs all season long. This group is giving up just 54 yards per game on the ground and have allowed 1 rushing touchdown all season. The defensive line has been the tone setter for being a run stopping force all season long. With momentum building and weather temperature dropping, Cascade’s defensive line will look to be a dominant threat if the Cadets want to make a push into late November. Guerin Catholic averages 118 yards on the ground, but this group will be tested in the pass rushing department. This group will need to get pressure on quarterback Quentin Klee early to get him off his rhythm throws. HIT SQUAD Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where SR Toby Savini, SR Baynx Stirling, SR Braxton Lewis, and SO TJ Turner, will look to continue their physical presence as a unit. SR Braxton Lewis returns to the playing surface this week after missing the sectional semifinals. SR Delton Howrey led this group with 6 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 interception. This group brings a strong combination of leadership, toughness, and athleticism, making them a key component of Cascade’s defense. This group has been known for setting the physicality in games and doesn’t shy away from contact. This linebacker unit will be critical Friday Night filling running lanes and dropping back into coverage vs a strong offensive unit for Guerin Catholic. NO FLY ZONE Cascade’s secondary is anchored by seniors Marcus Hobson and JT Roshong, alongside juniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Langley. Since surrendering 226 passing yards on big plays during the Week 4 matchup against North Montgomery, the Cadets’ “No Fly Zone” has locked in, allowing just 104 yards per game through the air this season. This disciplined group has forced opposing quarterbacks into tight windows all year, piling up 16 interceptions, including 3 by senior leader Marcus Hobson. The unit’s aggressive play and confidence have set the tone for Cascade’s defense, which has yielded only 10 passing touchdowns all season. Last week against Tri-West, the “No Fly Zone” made its biggest statement yet, picking off Louisville commit Jack Sorgi four times in the sectional semifinal. As Cascade prepares for its toughest test of the season in the biggest game of the season, this tested secondary will be key to slowing down Klee and the Golden Eagle offense. With momentum on their side, Cascade’s defensive backfield is ready to rise to the challenge once again. KICKERS Junior Brogan Trump continues the kicking duties for the Cadets. Trump has been almost automatic for the PATs. For the season, Trump is 81-87 on the year, had a record breaking PAT game vs Greencastle converting 12 of 12 to break the PAT record in a single game (Previously held by Brogan Trump, 2025) and leads the state in all 6 classes for PATs made. Trump surpassed the Career PAT Record in the first week of playoff play vs Indianapolis Washington with his 7 PATs made passing Max Stucky (69). SR Gabriel Glaze handles the kickoff duty for the Cadets and has been a special teams weapon, pinning teams deep in their own territory and keeping the ball out of returners hands with touchbacks. Glaze averaged 52.2 yards on kickoffs with 17 touchbacks on 45 kickoffs. Brogan Trump Season / Career Kicking Ranks: Kick Scoring (Season): 1st (87) PATs (Season): 1st (81) Kick Scoring (Career): 2nd (87) PATs (Career): 2nd (81) SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES Guerin Catholic is led by 12th year Head Coach Tom Dilley. He is 77-55 overall at Guerin Catholic and 157-132 overall as a Head Coach. Guerin Catholic enters the game with a 7-4 record and a third place finish in the Circle City Conference. Last week, the Golden Eagles defeated Crawfordsville 45-7 in the sectional semifinals. QB Quentin Klee led the team at quarterback going 11-13 for 143 yards and 1 touchdown with JR WR Isaiah Lewis hauling in 6 receptions for 81 yards. RB Jack Linden carried the ball 27 times for 126 yards and a season high 4 touchdowns. Klee leads this offensive unit that averages 360 yards per game to go along with 28.3 points per game. On the year Klee is 208-338 2,597 yards 21 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. JR Isaiah Lewis is his go-to target and has 63 receptions 851 yards with 5 touchdowns on the year. JR Jack Linden has added in 729 yards rushing with 13 rushing touchdowns. Golden Eagles average 242 yards through the air. On defense, Golden Eagles are led by SO Erik Sorenson with 97 tackles and SO Jack Wilson with 79 tackles. On the defensive line, Jacob Dumas leads the team with 5 TFLs and Matthew Hennie 7 sacks. This defensive unit gives up 395 yards per game and 29.1 points per game. 2025 Schedule Week 0: @ Linton Week 1: Monrovia W 48-6 Week 2: @ Danville W 41-25 Week 3: @ North Putnam W 42-6 Week 4: North Montgomery W 63-26 Week 5: @ Frankfort W 77-0 Week 6: Crawfordsville (Homecoming) W 55-3 Week 7: @ Greencastle W 98-13 Week 8: Southmont (Senior Night) W 46-0 Week 9: @ Western Boone W 56-7 Week 10: @ Indianapolis Washington W 58-0 Week 11: @ Tri-West W 45-14 Week 12: Guerin Catholic Week 13: IHSAA Regional Championship Week 14: IHSAA Semi-State Championship Week 15: IHSAA State Championship VARSITY COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH Connor Simmons 6th year at Cascade with an overall record of 39-26, 43-32 overall in 7 seasons. 2025: 11-0 2024: 10-1 (3A Sectional Semifinal) 2023: 6-5 (2A Sectional Semifinal) 2022: 6-5 (2A Sectional Semifinal) 2021: 3-7 2020: 3-8 (2A Sectional Semifinal) ASSISTANT COACHES Troy Edwards (DC - year 3) Matt Minardo (QB - year 6) Tony Appleby (OL - year 4) Cam Ginter (DL - year 2) Chris Appleby (OL - year 5) Don Rushton (ILB - year 3) Tim Horning (STC/RB - year 6) Connor Horning (STC/OLB - year 4) Steve Phillips (WR - year 3) Kyle Krober (RB - year 1) STUDENT MANAGERS Addison Littrell, Haley Terhune, Evan Dixon, Zayda Hofing MEDICAL STAFF Athletic Trainer: Meghan Clairday ADMINISTRATION Superintendent: Brian Tomamichel Assistant Superintendent: Kale Blickenstaff Principal: Jeff Hansel Assistant Principal: Julia Crone Athletic Director: Scott Stevens CASCADE SPORTS Follow CHS Athletics on Facebook (Cascade High School Athletics), Twitter (@Cadethletics), and online (cascadecadets.com) for more information on our sports and football program.
